Complete Character Description: What you see is what you get with Riddick. He stands 6'0 tall, with a very muscular build, as he takes great pride in his physical condition. Naturally, Furyan's are stranger and more fit than normal humans, and Riddick is no exception. This is a good thing, though, since it is needed for survival which is something Riddick is always battling for. Always practical, he keeps his head head shaved for the most part though there has been times while he was on the run that due to climate, necessity and lack of supplies, that he has allowed his hair and facial hair to grow out. However, he prefers the clean shaved route, and keeps it whenever possible. His attire, again, unless needed to be changed by necessity, usually consists of a black shirt, normally a tank top, dark cargo pants, combat boots that are usually dark black, and a utility belt. However he has been known to wear heavy jackets and other clothing in colder climates. From time to time, when needed, he also dons battle armor. However, for the most part, Riddick is a simple man preferring to stick to what he knows and what he feels comfortable with, which is practical, not flashy, but effective. One of the things about him that most notice is that, especially during the day, Riddick is never without welding glasses. Due to his “Eye-Shine”, his eyes glow and are very sensitive to light. Bright light can actually render his eyes literally useless, but as a trade-off, he can see in the dark. Hardly ever, unless Riddick is held captive, does the Furyan go with out knives on his person. Though not always needed, Riddick is not a stupid man and is not ill prepared in most situations. Whenever it is even remotely possible, the large man arms himself to the teeth, for in his world, you can never be sure what's going to happen from moment to moment. Personality: Riddick is a very cunning, very deductive and a very intuitive man despite his harsh upbringing, or perhaps, because of it. His survival instincts are beyond sharp and can only be called brilliant. He is always finding ways to hone them and make them even stronger. His survival instinct, really, is second to none. Due to the situations that he has encountered in his adult years, Riddick also has developed quite an amazing skill in escaping from captivity as he has done it several times, often dislocating limbs to do so when necessary. He hates being held in anyplace against his will, and will stop at nothing to free himself. All in all, Riddick is a rough, calloused and honest individual, not at all scared to speak his mind and his doubts to those around him, whether or not they want to hear it. He isn't concerned with making friends, and doesn't care much about if he hurts anyone's feelings or not with his brutal honesty. Background:Discovered in a trash bin behind a liquor store with his umbilical chord wrapped around his neck, no one is quite sure how Riddick survived the purging of his home planet, Furya. Not much is known about his childhood and Riddick is not very open with any information he might have. His parents were killed by the Necromongers, along with any family he might have had. Upon becoming of age, Riddick became a Company Ranger as a sweeper. Assigned to draw out the local wildlife, called spitfires, that were lizard-like creatures with motion sensor eyes, he excelled at this. Soon he discovered that the company was running a crooked game everywhere they went. Instead of firing him, they promoted him to the prestigious Strikeforce Academy on Sigma 3's moon. It was there that the young Riddick learned all he ever needed to know about killing. It was his third assignment that would change Riddick's life and the the path he was on. Discovering that he had been assigned to a position that allowed him to see how inhumane his employers were, Riddick spoke out against this and ended up in jail. Many people believe this is where not only his life changed, but the man himself as well. Killing a guard before his third year in prison was up, Riddick stole a uniform and escaped, killing 2 more guards and a pilot in the process. It was then that Riddick began his life of running and escaping from the bounties that were placed upon his head and the bounty hunters determined to make a buck off of him. It was also during this time that he earned his serial killer reputation as he killed any one that tried to capture him. However a few times, one was able to capture and even imprison him though it was never for long, as Riddick had a keen survival instinct and ability to escape. After one such escape, Riddick joined an outfit that was fighting in the Wailing Wars. He was the only one of the outfit to make it out alive. It was rumored, though Riddick never admitted to it, that he had killed all 500 members. It was right after this that Riddick was imprisoned in Butcher Bay Correctional Facility, having been marked as a violent sociopath and murderer. It was here that he received the gift of “Eye-Shine” from a mysterious Furyan woman named Shirah. Riddick helped a fellow prisoner named Pope Joe find his precious voice box, a radio that played religious stations. In return, as he went to the infirmary to get stitches for a wound, Pope Joe told him how to escape and telling him 'Not to trust his eyes.' It was then the mysterious Furyan whispered that Riddick had been blind for far too long and he received the 'Eye-Shine.' This strange addition to his eyes gave Riddick the ability to see in the dark and have acute senses. Once more he escaped from his confinement, but was captured within a year by a bounty Hunter, called Johns. He and his captor, and other prisoners, were in a plane crash that landed them on a mining planet and saw only 3 survivors. These were Riddick, a religious man, as well as a child named Jack who had deceived the group into thinking she was a male. It was later discovered that she was a female, by Riddick himself. As they escaped the planet together, Riddick entrusted Jack to the religious man's care, and spent several years afterwards running from Mercenaries and Necromonger's alike, all of them set on his capture. After avoiding being captured by the bounty hunter Toombs and his men, Riddick found himself on the planet inhabited by Necromonger's where he has his first encounter with Lord Marshal, the leader of a people who had no choice but to become followers. Most were brainwashed and forced to become members of their religion, the Quasi-Dead. After defeating one of Lord Marshal's best men , Riddick was taken to the Quasi-Dead where he did the one thing no one else had ever been able to do. He not only resisted it, he also retaliated which resulted in the order of, 'Kill the Riddick' by the Quasi-Dead and their Lord Marshal. However, Riddick's instinct to not only survive but to escape once more had him slipping from their attempts at his capture and death. At least until he once more ran into Toombs, who this time was very successful in capturing Riddick. The plan was to collect on the bounty and imprison Riddick in the Crematorium. Here, once more, Riddick has a run in with someone of his past. Jack, who has now grown into a young, but hard woman, has left that part of her life behind her. Going by the name Kyra, she has quite a bitter attitude toward Riddick. While he feels he was saving her, she feels he abandoned her. Toombs' plan goes horribly wrong. He and his crew have a shootout with the head guards and the ones who run the prison. This ends up leaving most of Toombs' crew dead, except the ones who decided to run and escape the prison. This left the prisoners to die during the next sun rise, which brought the temperature of the planet to well above 800 degrees. Riddick, however, with a few of the other prisoners, have another idea. They will beat the guards to the plane and leave before sunrise. However they have to reach the far side of the planet before the sun rises in less than half an hour. Riddick quickly led the way with his fellow prisoners, only to find he was not yet home free. Necromongers have raided the planet and once more Riddick and his crew are facing odds that seem impossible. In the end, he and Kyra are the only survivors, though Kyra has been captured. Riddick is presumed dead. It was there that Riddick learned a grand secret. He is left alone with the Lord Marshal's right hand man and assumes he intended to kill him. Riddick readied himself to battle the other man. However, he is shocked him when he is, instead, told a few of the Lord Marshal's weaknesses and given the blessing to kill the Lord Marshal. Then the other man steps into the sunrise with Riddick watching as the other man's skin is peeled off his body and he is slowly burned leaving nothing more than ashes. Taking the ship that the other man had left behind, Riddick headed to free Kyra and take out revenge on Lord Marshal. As he arrived back on the planet, he discovered that Kyra has been 'cleansed' and is now a Necromonger. She tried to talk Riddick into giving in and doing the same. When he refused, Lord Marshal told her to kill Riddick and a battle ensues. However, Lord Marshal steps in when he sees Kyra is failing and sends her flying against the wall. She was stabbed, and quickly weakened. Riddick, enraged by her injury, found himself battling Lord Marshal this time weakening him and causing him to call for the help of his strongest and best warrior. It was an unfortunately choice for him to have made, for the key belief of the Quasi-Dead was you keep what you kill. Lord Marshal was faced with two strong warriors battling against him, instead of just Riddick. His soul separated from his body and stretched toward Riddick and his body toward the Great Warrior. Both men swung their weapons, Riddick his blade, the Warrior his battle axe. Unfortunately for the warrior as well as Lord Marshal, just as both men swung, his body lurched for his soul and as Riddick brought down his blade it struck the man in the head. He was dead instantly. He didn't realize what he had done at first, being too busy trying to save Kyra. It was far too late, and the young woman died in his arms. He only allowed himself a moment of grieving before allowing her body to fall to the ground. Shaken, the man stumbled and fell into the chair of the Lord Marshal. At first, he didn't understand why the people started bowing to him. Fianlly, it hit him and he whispered, “You keep what you kill.” He had no time to fully digest these new facts, that he was the leader of these people. A black hole opened up right underneath him, and he fell in. Confused, he awoke to discover he was once more on a new planet. This time, however, there would be no escape. Weaknesses: Not a man of many weakness, his only two are his sensitivity to light and a soft spot for children. Strengths: Riddick is an exceptional fighter even without his eyes. Rather it was because of his heritage or strict training, most likely both Riddick is stronger, tougher, faster, more resistant to damage and injury. possess acute senses, immense stamina, and the ability to recover quicker than most humans. As well as his ability to see in the dark, Riddick also has an indomitable will. Causing what would seem like impossible situations to most, very much possible for Riddick. Beating all the odds and surviving what a weaker human or species would not have. Likes: honing his skills as a warrior and survivor. Black,proving he is right. Fruit, reading, being alone. Dislikes: Being wrong, bounty hunters, being second guessed. People in general. He is not a very friendly man. Talents and Hobbies: Riddick is an exceptional pilot and loves to fly though it was hardly a hobby as it was more of a survival thing. He also has a great talent to be able to fix things an enjoys it when he can. Family and Friends: His family was killed in the purge of his home planets and what few people he encountered in his his adult life that he could call friends or close enough had been killed during the years.
